Tackers

Tackers is a fun game-based sailing program designed for 7-12yr olds. All equipment is provided and the program is delivered by Australian Sailing accredited Instructors. It's a great way for kids to develop water safety skills, confidence, resilience and independence.

We run the program during the school holidays in January. Running daily over 4 days from 9am - 1pm for a total of 20hours of sailing tuition, fun, games and making new friends. 

There are 3 Tackers programs depending on experience by the end of Tackers 3 kids will be sailing independently in a boat on their own.

Tackers 1 Having Fun. Kids sail in pairs in small boats. Its a great way to meet new friends and kids have the chance to sail with others in their group.

Tackers 2 Tricks & Techniques. If kids are confident, they can sail a boat on their own with lots of support, supervision and encouragement from the Instructor and Assistant Instructors.

Tackers 3 Sailing Fast! This is a chance for the kids to sail boats on their own, learning how to make the boat go faster and playing more games, all whilst still under the guidance and supervision of the Instructor and Assistant Instructors.

The boats are specifically designed for Tackers, they are big enough for two kids to sail together and as they gain more confidence to sail on their own. The boats have built in bouyancy and are extra stable. Cost is 

Kids don't have to be a member of the club to participate in Tackers so it's a great way to try out sailing.........we do have lots of families who's kids started in Tackers and are now members.
